LEAP is Sunnyside’s after-school learning programme for children who need more from learning; whether that means stronger foundations, a different way of understanding, or greater challenge and enrichment.
What is LEAP?
LEAP is Sunnyside’s after-school programme designed to strengthen how children learn, think and engage with the world around them.
It brings together learning experiences that build stronger foundations, encourage deeper thinking and inquiry, and give children opportunities to explore and engage with learning in meaningful ways. LEAP is not tuition or homework support. The focus is on how children understand, reason, express, question and apply what they learn not simply on keeping up with a syllabus.
What is LEAP Foundations?
LEAP Foundations is a learning journey curated for children aged 5-10 that focuses on strengthening the core foundations children need for strong, independent learning. Through Language & Communication, Mathematical Thinking, Scientific Thinking & Inquiry, and Habits of Success, children work on understanding, reasoning, expression, curiosity and independence through a more hands-on and meaningful approach to learning.
LEAP is not tuition or homework support. The focus is on strengthening how children learn, not simply helping them keep up with a syllabus.

What is LEAP Language Foundations?
Some children struggle to read independently. Some can read the words but do not fully understand what they are reading. Others find writing, spelling or expressing their thoughts in English difficult. When language foundations are weak, the impact goes beyond English. Understanding instructions, following lessons, communicating ideas and learning meaningfully across subjects can all become harder.
LEAP Language Foundations is a focused English language programme for children 4 yrs & above, that works on these gaps; strengthening reading, comprehension, writing, vocabulary, speaking and listening, based on what each learner needs.
LEAP Language Foundations is not English tuition, homework support or exam preparation. The focus is on strengthening the language foundations underneath learning, so children can gradually read, understand, communicate and express themselves with greater independence.
