Founder's Note
Sabina Fathima Sirajudeen
I created Sunnyside from a simple belief: children learn best when learning feels real. My own schooling made me question many conventional practices, and those questions eventually grew into a deeper interest in how humans actually learn. When I became a parent, I knew I wanted something different for my children. That’s how Sunnyside began.

At Sunnyside, children learn through experiences; reading, play, projects, outdoor work, sports, workshops, volunteering and travel. These are not add-ons; they are the core of how children explore the world and themselves. I design and curate learning journeys that move beyond the classroom, making learning meaningful, safe, and connected to life.

My work is guided by a strong belief that learning is lifelong, self-directed, and without boundaries. We focus on nurturing curiosity, empathy, confidence, and a deep relationship with nature. Before starting Sunnyside, I was part of a software startup and spent years designing and facilitating learning programs. Those experiences shaped my approach to building environments where children can grow, question, and imagine freely.
