Sunnyside is an K-12 Experiential Learning School in Chennai for children from 2.5 to 18 years.
We build learning around children, not just a curriculum through hands-on experiences, projects, conversations, the outdoors, real-world exposure and strong academic foundations. Children learn by doing, questioning, exploring and gradually taking ownership of their learning.
Because for us, education is not only about what a child knows.
It is also about the kind of person they are growing up to become.
Primary Environment (Ages 2.5-6)
A Montessori inspired environment where children work with their hands, make choices, build independence, and learn through concrete materials. The day includes foundational work in language, math, culture, nature, and practical life alongside play, stories and a strong reading culture.
Middle School (Ages 11-13)
A more rigorous stage where the work becomes deeper, longer, and more demanding. Students continue with core academic subjects, but their projects now require stronger research, clearer thinking, better documentation, collaboration, and higher-quality outcomes.
Elementary Environment (Ages 7-10)
A stage where children strengthen their foundations in math, science, English, languages, and social studies while beginning to connect subjects through multidisciplinary projects. They read widely, do guided research, work with materials, travel, observe nature, document their learning, and slowly build the habits needed for deeper study.
High School (Ages 14 & above)
A strong academic program that combines core subjects with multidisciplinary projects, community work, collaborative learning, and domain-specific exploration. Students begin to build clarity about future pathways, prepare for required examinations, and take up deeper work in areas they may want to pursue further.
